A new level of sickness....
How to build your own shisha:
You will need:
1 Wide-top soda bottle
3 ft of rubber/plastic hose
2 ft copper tubing (1/4-1/2")
1 Apple (a good sturdy apple, like Red Delicious)
1 Hammer
1 Screwdriver/tapper
1 Plyers (if you arent strong enough to bend 1/2" copper tubing)
Step one: Prep the bottle
Empty all that colored, sugured water out. That shit is bad for you.
Take the top: I stated "wide mouth" for a reason. You need something that is about an inch in diameter, so a juice bottle works, I chose to use the 3 liter "America's Choice" grape soda bottle found at CVS. Perect for your own shisha. Take the top, and pound in two holes on opposite sides of the top. The idea is that you need to stick that copper tube through one hole and the plastic tube through the other hole. Depending on how you make the holes, you may need to take a knife and widen them out but dont go crazy: you'll want a snug fit for the tubbing.
Next, take the copper tubing: It may be hard to find a 2' peice, so you may have to buy 5' (usually coiled) and cut it down using sheet metal shears or a hacksaw. Next, take the tubing, bend it straight, and cut that to about 2'.
The next steps should be self explainatory: Take the tubing, stick the copper tubing in such that it will reach deep in the bottle. Take the plastic tubing and stick it throug the adjacent hole, but only far enough so that it wont fall out. You may want to use cauk or tape or use whatever you have to improve the seal.
Fill the bottle 1/3 - 1/2 the way with water, and cap it off. Now, its time for the testing phase: Take a nice pull out of the hose. Does the water bubble? If so, my good man, you are in business.
The finally touch is the apple: Cut the top off and core the apple. Make a nice little bowl out of the apple meat and make a small hole (a little smaller than the diameter of the copper tubbing). Now take the apple, stick some shisha tobacco in there and cover the whole thing with tin foil. You shisha people know what to do next.
On next weeks program: Making flavored tobacco using shit found at your local grocery and American Spirit rolling tobacco.

Actually, it hits really nice, even while using grill-charcoal.
Once I get my permanent apartment, it will be turned into the "lab." In which I will design and test cutting edge shisha technology. The homemade shisha and tobacco are just a start

so grill charcoal is widely accepted as a substitute?
i thought only arabs in St. Louis did that.....

You must use a grill charcoal with low sand content, and none of that "self starting" charcoal, unless you like that "been huffing gas all day" kind of high

TRENT!
Do you realize how much you know about this?!?!
My shisha stands, sad, just waiting for some heat. Alas, that shall change.
Hope everything is going great out East!!
