Online and Skyped-out...
So, I finally have the internet again. Blogging has been timultous at best after one of my neighbors with the particularly loose wifi connection decided to move out, and now: I gots the wifi of the continental US. Who needs cables and shit when you got verizon wireless broadband and skype all on a laptop?
Okay, so whats new? Work has been off and on. My last weeks of the month are easy (my boss usually shows up Egyo-style at 11am) and my boss has offered numerous times for me to work from home (but the lack of broadband has not allowed this), but the start of the month is busy as hell (work on the weekends, staying till 6-8, working at home), which I actually dig.
The JC is still chill. Down stairs we have the Camino with $1 cans of PBR, which has made getting up some mornings a little difficult. Dennis has been producing some pretty sweat art, such as the 5 foot, three sectional acrylic of a Colt 45 malt liqour. All class. And I have once again begun writting my business plan, which with my aforementioned wireless-ness should be more doable (with the addition of possibly one cohort, who I have yet to court for the partnership).
Definitely starting my own business, and it making money, even if its not enough to live on souly, is my primary goal at the moment. I think of it as part of my learning experience. And for those who havent looked into it, starting the lowest form of business (sole proprietorship) isnt all that difficult, the NJ Government website even has a step by step guide. Goals for the month:
1) Finish written portion of business plan (full BP minus financials)
2) Register domain online and trade name with Hudson County
3) Build updated prototype (elsewhere on Nomadlife you may have seen the grand daddy, I have since updated, and now Im in the process of finding suppliers to actually build a near final product, which I can market).
This is on top of the year end book close at LT and starting to study for cram month: My 9 masters level credits in 3 weeks, at Babson. That'll be balls to the wall, which is a feeling I have missed since graduating.
Im still working on my Egyo ticket, It seems like it'll be $1000. At first I was wondering where I'd get that kind of cash, since moving was far more expensive than I anticipated, but in November Ill be out of NYC for over a month (still being paid by LT) working at home (in MN), then at Babson, then Christmas, then Egypt. I figure those 5 weeks will be cheap (LT pays for my housing and 2 meals a day at Babson, pretty posh, same at parents place). So, next pay check the hunt is in ernest and if I find a ticket for <$1000, Ill buy it, right there, right then.
Okay, thats all for now. I christen this the wifi-blogging era, expect more, and far better composed entries ex-post-haste.

Keep looking at Orbitz and call Egypt Air. Another cheap airline is the Spanish Airline (name eludes me). I got my tix in PEAK season for $850 so you should do okay, just keep looking and when you find it, wham !

Well, just having a quick look at the spanish airline (which is www.iberia.com for Jen), if you are prepared to depart New York on Dec 24 or Dec 30, and return from Cairo on Jan 4 or Jan 7, then they have fares for $856 including taxes. Not too bad....
Otherwise the British Airways website will offer you fares with a wide choice of dates for $1077.

Yea, I flew Iberia when I went to Egypt last time, i was the only one on that airline not to loose a bag (worked for me, got a 6 days layover in Barcelona).
Anyway, ill Egyo Air, Direct NYC to Cairo would be nice, plus, has anyone seen the taxes Germany, France and the UK are putting on tickets now? Its like $300.

Idk if you have enough dates to play with, but Jenna and I were able to book 2 round trip tickets for about 800- one from the US to Europe (we chose Dublin) and then another from Dublin to Cairo. Of course this does take a little longer to get there than a direct flight...
